Biography
Dr. Maria Cristina Hatara is a board-certified gastroenterologist with nearly 10 years of clinical practice experience, extensively in inpatient and outpatient settings as well as in practice leadership. Prior to joining Tampa General Hospital Gastro Group of the Palm Beaches, she practiced gastroenterology with Gastro Health in Delray Beach, Fla., after a long tenure with Bend Memorial Clinic/Summit Medical Group in Bend, Ore. During that time, Dr. Hatara served as Division Chief of Gastroenterology in the BMC Gastroenterology Division at St. Charles Hospital, also in Bend, Ore.
Dr. Hatara’s clinical interests in general gastroenterology include inflammatory bowel disease and liver disease. She’s conducted clinical research throughout her career and is credited with several publications and presentations in areas of her expertise. Dr. Hatara is fluent in English and Romanian and speaks conversational Spanish and French. Her hobbies include tennis, skiing and reading.
